The community center in North Smithfield, Rhode Island was completed in October 1995.

Kinoo, Inc. provided all architectural, engineering, and construction management services under a turnkey (design/build) contract. The center occupies 7800 square feet and contains classrooms, public assembly spaces, and reception. The architectural design allows great flexibility in allowing multiple use of the same space. The educational areas such as classrooms are created by means of movable partitions that can be removed to provide larger assembly areas. Building mechanical and electrical systems include rooftop forced air gas-fired heating and electrical air conditioning units. The design complies with ADA, barrier free access, as well as conforms to all local

and national building codes. Through careful attention to integrated design elements, schedule coordination and cost control, building construction cost came well below budgeted cost and at least 15% below comparable square foot construction costs (historical cost of other general contractors). The center was completed ahead of schedule.
