The Central Artery Tunnel

Kinoo, Inc. has been working on the Central Artery Tunnel Project, Boston, as a construction management sub-consultant on the $ 13 Billion project since 1994.

In 1995, Kinoo, Inc. was one of two firms, out of 17, that won through open competition process, a major construction management prime contract. The award to Kinoo, Inc. was also predicated upon Kinoo’s performance as a sub-consultant on the project for over a two year period. Kinoo’s responsibilities include claims and change administration as well as scheduling, cost estimating and right-of-way assessment as part of the joint venture team of Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhhoff (B/Pb). Several of Kinoo’s employees have been given commendations by the joint venture team of B/PB for Kinoo’s contribution to the project.

Kinoo’s tasks have included: Managing change orders and construction claims and working with owners, engineers, attorneys, accountants, schedulers and general contractors to expedite incorporation of required contract changes in compliance with laws and procedures.

Review of cost proposals for compliance with contractual requirements and analyzing variance between proposed and allowable costs and negotiating settlements for price and schedule. Project control liaison between the Central Artery Procurement and Project Engineering to monitor utility contract formation and performance to schedule. Providing oversight/direction to contractors for development and maintenance of progress schedules and resolution of scheduling/process conflicts with the contractor.
